Help! 10 excuses people give to not use condoms and how to respond!

When the moment is nigh, a lot of penis owners seem to deal with a sudden latex-allergy, numbness, or they claim to be incredibly well endowed…

We are absolutely done with all the excuses. This is why we have some ready-made comebacks to the 10 most common excuses to not use a condom. Forced unsafe sex, so-called stealthing, is not okay!

“I am allergic to condoms”

Ask your partner which components they are allergic to. Is it latex, lube, or something else? A good talk about allergies might not contribute to the sexy mood, but with this newfound knowledge you can both at least prepare for the next round in all safety.

“Sex without a condom just feels better. I can’t come when wearing a condom.”

Well, I like sex better if I don’t have to worry about any unwanted presents afterwards.

“We are more connected without a condom”

You’re absolutely right, 18 years is a lot of time to really connect. That aside, nothing screams ‘connecting’ as much as a date at the STD clinic.

“You are on the pill, right?”

Correct. I’ll take full responsibility for the ‘not-getting-pregnant’ part. If you take your responsibility for the ‘not-getting-an-STD” part, we’ll share the work equally.

“Using a condom ruins the moment”

Discussions about using or not using condoms take way longer. Besides, you can make putting on a condom part of the play. You can put on the condom using your mouth, for example.

“I can’t keep an erection, because the condom is too tight”

You can fit an entire arm inside a condom, so unless you pull out a footlong subway out of your pants, I think the problems are minimal. If it’s really too tight we can size up. (If you are already turned off at this point you can shimmy the condom on your arm to prove a point.)

“I don’t have a condom with me”

Make sure you always have your own condoms at hand. Taking control is hot AF, ladies! You can pull out your own condom from your pocket, like our Yes. An ultra-thin, vegan condom with a nice fragrance.

“I feel less with a condom on”

That’s great! Maybe I’ll finally be able to reach an orgasm before you reach yours for once.

“Don’t you trust me?”

This is not a matter of trust, it’s a matter of health. Everyone can have a STD, even without them knowing it. And this is true for the both of us.

“I can just pull out, right?”

You can get pregnant from pre-cum and again, this doesn’t take away the risk of contracting a STD.  Also forget pulling out, without a condom you won’t even get the chance to put it in.

Don’t be afraid to stand up for yourself. We get it might be scary, but you have to take control of your own health and don’t take it for granted. Take control ladies! Better to be safe than sorry as we always say, make sure to carry your own condoms. Our Yes won’t feel out of place in your handbag either.

One last thing. Unfortunately, it happens quite often that people take of their condom mid-sex without their partner knowing or damage the condoms on purpose. This is called stealthing. Forced unprotected sex is not okay! We consider this an act of sexual violence and in some countries, like Germany and the UK, this is, fortunately, considered a punishable act by law. Did this happen to you? Don’t be ashamed, this is absolutely not your fault and please report to the police.
